あっつい！ It's very hot.

まだまだ残暑厳しいですね。

今朝も最低気温28度！天気は晴れで33度予報です。朝から暑いので日課のウォーキングもしばしお休みにしてます。

ogasun はあまり出掛けないのでほとんどアトリエに籠っています。こう暑くてはエアコンを常時稼働しています。時にはアトリエスペースと居住スペースと２台つけてしまいます。もうあまり電気代は気にしないようにしています。

アトリエも築40数年で窓はアルミサッシですが昔のサッシは熱は通すし隙間だらけなんです。この暑い時期には、朝早くに窓を全開にして換気をして澱んだ空気の入れ替えをします。その後は窓も雨戸もカーテンも閉めてしまいます。雨戸のない所は日除を付けています。窓からの熱波の侵入がひどいのでこれで少しは凌げます。ただし外から見ると怪しいですけどね、まぁ仕方ないです。皆様はどんな対策していますか？。

The lingering summer heat is still intense, isn't it?

The low temperature this morning was 28°C! It’s sunny, with a forecast high of 33°C. Since it’s hot right from the start of the day, I’ve put my daily walking routine on hold for the time being.

I don't go out much, so I spend most of my time holed up in my atelier. With heat like this, I keep the air conditioner running constantly. Sometimes I even have units running in both the atelier and the living area. I’ve stopped worrying too much about the electricity bill.

My atelier is over 40 years old; while it has aluminum window frames, they are the old kind that conduct heat and are full of gaps. During this hot season, I open the windows wide early in the morning to ventilate and clear out the stale air. After that, I close the windows, storm shutters, and curtains. For areas without storm shutters, I put up sunshades. The heat pouring in through the windows is severe, so these measures help me cope a little. It probably looks a bit suspicious from the outside, but well, it can't be helped. What kind of measures are you all taking?
